2002 Christies Photographies - Collection d'un Amateur, Paris, 11/16/02. On the occasion of Photography Month in Paris and the Paris-Photo exhibition at the Carrousel du Louvre, Christie's is delighted to announce the inaugural Photographs sales in Paris. The first sale (5036) offers a selection of 20th century and contemporary works by award winning photographers such as Roger Ballen, Rineke Dijkstra and Hiroshi Sugimoto. The second sale - Collection d'un Amateur (5009) - illustrates the evolution of photography through the eye of a distinguished collector. The images range from 19th century Parisian architectural scenes by Edouard-Denis Baldus, rare female nudes by Felix Jacques Antoine Moulin, historical documentation of Napoleon III's military camps by Gustave Le Gray, and photos of Picasso's studio by Brassa
