Art from China but also South East Asia and India will be represented in this sale which counts 388 lots. Several pieces of impeccable provenance are offered, such as a finely carved and imperially inscribed archaistic white jade vase from the Qianlong Period (1736–1795) from an American private collection, and a rare and magnificent 18th century white jade bowl and cover, from the collection of baron Jean-Baptiste Louis Gros (1793–1870), which has been kept in this same family since the 19th century.
A fine selection of Buddhist sculptures will also be offered, including a large and important 18th century bronze figure of Dakini inlaid with silver and copper, from a French private collector. The sale also includes a selection of paintings and fans from the collection of the late French collector Jean-Pierre Dubosc (1903–1988), as well as lacquers, textiles and porcelains – including a beautiful blue and white meiping vase from the Qianlong Period, finely decorated in the style of the Ming Dynasty, from a European private collection.
