THE PAVILION SALE - CHINESE CERAMICS & WORKS OF ART
SALE 3446
Hong Kong
6 October 2015

Following the success of the Pavilion Sale launched last fall, Christie's Hong Kong continues the dedication to offer fine Chinese ceramics and works of art from different dynasties.

This October rare sancai ceramics from the Tang dynasty will make their debut at Christie's Hong Kong, alongside with a wide array of beautifully carved jade and precious stone ornaments and accessories, ceramics from the Song to Qing dynasties, as well as bamboo, wood, lacquer and bronzes.

Representing the pinnacle of the Tang dynasty was the production of high-fired ceramics emerged decorated with white, black, green glazes, or in colourful glazes known as sancai, which literally means 'three-coloured' wares. These ceramics were made in the kilns of and were developed to their perfection by the mid Tang period as exemplified by those collected in the Yangdetang collection.

The Pavilion Sale will also include some fine examples of carvings, accessories and decorative objects that are made of jade and other precious stones. Offered at a range of estimates, these works of art will allow emerging as well as established collectors to build their own distinctive collection that can be enjoyed and integrated into modern life as jewellery and personal ornaments.
