Details
Sotheby’s is honored to present the Warshawsky Collection, one of the greatest assemblages of Tiffany and Prewar Design ever to appear at auction. Chicago-based collector Roy Warshawsky immersed himself in building the collection from the late 1960s through the early 1990s, a time when access to works of unprecedented quality and rarity abounded. He was particularly drawn to the rich colors and luminosity he saw in the lamps and glass of Louis Comfort Tiffany.  Over time he assembled a truly encyclopedic collection that spans every artistic discipline of the firm’s production. He was also a passionate collector of Liberty silver, European Art Nouveau, American Arts & Crafts and American Art. One of the last true connoisseur collections, this sale event presents both established and new collectors with an unprecedented opportunity to acquire works from this treasured collecting legacy.
