Sotheby's sale of American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture achieved a total of $4,399,125, including buyer's premium. LeRoy Neiman's Football Star Constellation led the sale with a price of $430,000, while Norman Rockwell's Woman Relaxing with Tea After Shopping brought $175,000, well above estimate.

Our April sale includes a rich array of American artwork from the 19th and 20th centuries, highlighted by Gifford Beal’s striking Fish Houses, Winter Day. A charming genre painting by Thomas Waterman Wood and strong landscape paintings by George Inness, Jasper Francis Cropsey and Worthington Whittredge lead our offering of works from the 19th century, while notable 20th century examples include those by Ernest Lawson, Charles Burchfield, Norman Rockwell and Will Barnet.
