Very much a collector of the old school, Michael Ingram's love of drawings and watercolours is evident from every work that he chose to acquire, and from the whole style and scope of the collection that he created. With fewer drawings in circulation, and generally higher prices, it is harder for today's collectors to buy in a similarly personal way, but the sale of the Ingram Collection will be a taste of how 'Collectors' Sales' used to be, and will also bring to the market a large number of excellent works, many of which have been in the possession of the Ingram family for more than half a century
