The 29th June Contemporary Art Day Auction features a carefully-curated range of exciting works by the foremost names in the Contemporary art world. With classic artworks by prominent post-war European, South American and American masters, as well as cutting-edge paintings and sculptures by leading international young artists, the June sale brings together pieces from the most important movements of the Post-War and Contemporary period.

Highlights of the sale include Peter Doig's hauntingly evocative landscape painting Tunnel Passing (Country-Rock), an exquisite work on paper Jarvis, by Elizabeth Peyton, and an iconic and painterly portrait of Mao by Andy Warhol. The post-war section features a group of works by pioneering South American avant-garde artists, including revolutionary pieces by Carlos Cruz-Diez, Jesús Rafael Soto, Lygia Clarke, Gego and Sergio Camargo, as well as works by prominent Zero artists, including Walter Leblanc, Jan Schoonhoven, Piero Manzoni and Günther Uecker. Two beautiful Abstraktes Bild paintings by Gerhard Richter, each executed in jewel-like colours, illuminate his unwavering commitment to the expressive potential of oil paint, while an early (1952) watercolour and gouache work on paper, Untitled, by Sam Francis, exhibits the colourful drips and splashes of Abstract Expressionism. The sale also includes works by George Baseltiz, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Lucio Fontana, Bridget Riley, Robert Indiana and Takashi Murakami, among others.
